Microsoft possesses a long and successful history. From the launch of Microsoft Basic in 1975 to the launch of Windows Vista in 2007, the company has remained on the cutting edge of technology and continues to lead the computing industry in innovations. The company started through the partnership of Bill Gates and Paul Allen in 1975. At the launch of the Altair 8800, the two men realized that the future of computing would be realized through the use of a common coding language.

From this point, Gates and Allen created Microsoft BASIC and released it to the world. Microsoft took off slowly with continued advancements in technology, the company would go public in 1986 with incredible success. Over the years, the company continued to launch new products like Word, Excel, Encarta, and Windows. Windows proved to be the company's most popular product due to its ability to allow users to view multiple programs at a time.
